We watched TV through a telescope.

Mostly accidentally. Novelty distracted us from wonder as clouds blocked our once in 680 long lifetimes view of Neowise.

I think I can read the subtitles!

53yo exclaimed, looking into the penthouse model apartment 500 feet away.

I ordered the telescope a week ago to answer the question what does the moon really look like? 🌚 after a night spent wondering what the Earth looks like from the moon. 🌎

It’s the only thing I’ve bought recently that I wasn’t influenced by a friend or instagram ad algorithm, reminding me that we get to choose what we pay attention to.

An hour after sunset the clouds cleared in a moonless sky. We started our search but put 5yo to bed with tears in his eyes.

I didn’t even get to see it!

We read Captain Underpants until there was a knock on the door.

I got it.

53yo said with wet eyes.

It took an hour of searching to get the comet in the viewfinder, twinkling red white green and blue.

Or was it a star that’s been there all along?
