start again today no. 3: how do you inspire action?

Hey 👋

Last week, I challenged you to share feedback.

  • Here’s what’s working well

  • Here’s what I’d like to see more of

Why? Giving encouragement and speaking futuristically is more likely to inspire action than dwelling on the past.

🧠Think: what mental prisons hold you back?

It was a really long week, but it wasn’t a bad week. In a previous life, a long week was a self fulfilling prophecy. Long = bad. In mental prisons, CEO and self professed 7 day a week worker Ryan Kulp talks about mindset as the key to being free.

❤️Feel: how does sharing our struggles help?

Milveen, a coworker and fellow single mom, reflected on her journey through motherhood, divorce, solopreneurship and finding financial stability again on the She Makes Money Moves podcast.

It resonated hard. When we share our painful experiences, we help others who aren’t as far along in their journey, we create perspective, and maybe, we heal ourselves, too. Thanks, Milveen!

🚶🏽‍♀️Do: something for someone else

Sometimes I see something terrible, feel sad/guilty, and then let that check the box of the action I should/could take. “There are just too many things wrong in the world.” That’s usually when I call Caitryn.

Caitryn McCallum, a close friend, MPH, yogi, and healer is a doer. She sees something bad and takes action, pouring her heart into doing as much as she can to make a difference.

Caitryn jumped in to raise money for her friend Lizzy after a climbing fall left her paralyzed from the chest down with 518k in year one medical bills. You can help Lizzy here.

Caitryn reminds me that even if you can’t do it all, doing something for someone else counts. Turn awareness or advice into inquisition and action. How can I help?

I see you, I love you, let’s have an awesome week.

P.S. on my blog this week: self help is a $10 billion industry of answers, but it’s really a questions game.
